Although Michael Coulter was born in Ellesmere, Shropshire, he has lived and painted in Suffolk for many years. After attending several art schools (namely Hereford, Stafford and Leeds) he went on to teach art at Woolverstone Hall School in Suffolk until 1987, since when he has been painting and exhibiting his delightful watercolours full time.
