1. Postage Charges

We regret that, owing to many problems with delivery of our larger packets, we no longer offer international delivery outside Europe.



2. Standard Delivery (UK only)


Fully-paid orders which have been approved by our card processor before 3pm will be posted or dispatched to you on the same day, or next working day if you order at the weekend or a public holiday.

Please note that if you order advent calendars or wrapping paper, these will be dispatched in a packet which will probably not fit through your letter box. If there is somewhere secure for the postman to leave the packet (e.g. with a neighbour), please provide instructions when prompted during the checkout process.

If you are out when delivery is attempted, the Postman or Courier Driver should leave a "Sorry you were out" card. Please telephone the number on the card and arrange redelivery at a time and place to suit.

Most UK orders will be sent by Royal Mail First Class. However we reserve the right to make alternative delivery arrangements if we see fit, and you (or someone at your address) may be required to sign for receipt. If no-one is in when delivery is attempted by alternative methods, a card will be left. Please telephone the number on the card and arrange redelivery at a time to suit.

Mail posted to UK addresses using the Royal Mail First Class service often arrives one working day after dispatch. However, if you wish to be absolutely safe, please allow at least one week for delivery during busy periods (e.g. the pre-Christmas period) especially if you are ordered large items such as advent calendars, which we find are usually slower to arrive.


3. Express Delivery (UK only)


For orders received before 3pm, we will dispatch on the same day, or next working day if you order at the weekend or on a public holiday.


If you opt for Express Delivery, your order will be delivered before 9pm on the next working day (by Courier, or by Royal Mail Special Delivery).


You (or someone at your address) will be required to sign for receipt. If no-one is available to take delivery, then a card will be left. Please follow the instructions to arrange re-delivery.


Please note that we are unable to provide Express Delivery to the BFPO and certain addresses in Northern Ireland, offshore islands of the UK and remote areas of the Scottish Highlands. If you have opted for Express delivery to one of these areas, we will automatically downgrade your order to "Standard Delivery" and refund the appropriate amount to your payment card.


4. International Delivery


We regret we can only offer delivery to European destinations only, as we have experienced too many problems with international delivery outside Europe, particularly with larger packets.


We are unable to offer any guarantees with regards to European delivery.  We know from experience that delivery often takes longer than the Royal Mail target of 3 to 5 working days, especially in the very busy pre-Christmas period.


If you would like the option of insuring and tracking your European delivery, please telephone us on 01948 770318 and we can arrange to send your parcel by "Airsure" for an additional charge. 


5. VAT


All prices shown on this website include VAT at the standard rate (if applicable). Our VAT registration number is 872 0784 09.


If you are not resident in the UK for tax purposes, and have placed an order for delivery outside the European Community, we can repay the VAT to you. Please send us an email quoting your order reference and we will arrange a refund to your payment card. Countries and territories outside the EC Fiscal (VAT) area include (amongst many others) the Channel Islands, the Canary Islands and Gibraltar.


If you are a diplomat or FCO staff working abroad, and wish to export our goods via FCO diplomatic channels, we can also repay the VAT on your order. Please arrange for your embassy to authorize, date and stamp our invoice as "received", and return it to us within 3 months of your order, and we will refund the VAT to your payment card.


6. Payment


Payment must be received in full before the order will be dispatched. We accept payment in Pounds Sterling only, by credit or debit card (but not American Express or Diners), Paypal or cleared personal cheque.


7. Confirmation of orders


We will send you an email to confirm receipt of your order following the successful authorisation of your payment card or Paypal transaction. We will send a further email to confirm dispatch of your order in due course.


If you do not appear to receive these automatic emails, please check your “spam” filter in case they have been mistakenly identified as junk mail. If you are still unable to find them, please contact us to enquire about the status of your order.


8. Cancellation of orders


You have the right to cancel your order at any time up to seven working days starting the day after delivery. If you change your mind about an order after it has been dispatched, please return it to us in the original protective envelope (or other packaging) and we will refund the cost (and shipping charge if applicable) of all items received in pristine condition.  You (the customer) are responsible for return postage costs.


9. Website privacy & information security policy


In order to provide the services and products available through the website, we will hold certain personal information relating to you (as provided by you during the registration process). We have obligations in relation to your personal information under the General Data Protection Regulation which came into force on 25 May 2018.

Under the terms of the GDPR, we (Orchard Cards Limited) are a Data Controller and a Data Processor.  We collect and store customer data (name, postal and email address and telephone number) in order to be able to process sales orders.  We do not collect or store your payment card information.  We subcontract payment processing to a third party (SagePay), and customers of Orchard Cards Ltd leave our website and enter the SagePay secure payment gateway in order to enter payment card details at the end of the checkout process.


By providing personal information, you agree that we may use this information for the operation of the website and the provision of the services and the products to you.


Where you provide information about other people (for example, you might use your spouse's email address as your login) you also confirm that you have the consent of these people to provide us with that information.


Any personal information that we collect from you will be used solely for the purposes of operating the website and providing the services and products to you. We will never disclose your information to any outside organisation except as part of the operation of the website and/or the provision of the services and products to you, or where we are legally obliged to do so.


The personal information that you provide will be securely stored. Should you provide personal information over the phone, any temporary notes made on paper will be destroyed as quickly as possible.


The accuracy of your personal information is dependant upon the accuracy of the information that you provide. We will not verify personal information provided by you and we shall not be responsible for errors or problems that arise as a result of inaccurate information submitted by you.


From time to time we may contact (by email or post) customers who are opted in to our newsletters, to inform them about our products, discounts and special offers, as we have a legitimate interest in marketing our goods to existing customers to increase sales. You will always be given the opportunity to opt-out (via a link in an email, by updating your contact preferences in your Orchard Cards account or by email or phone) if you no longer wish to receive further information notices and we will always act on your instructions.


10. Limitation of liability


Orchard Cards Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders or agents and any other party involved in creating and maintaining the website hereby exclude all and any liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage incurred by:


- Interruption of the operation of the business including, but not limited to, website downtime, postal strikes, Acts of God etc.

- Viruses that may infect your computer equipment, software, data or other property on account of your access to, use of, or browsing the website.

- Your downloading of any material from the website or any websites linked to the website.

- Your use of our Date Reminder Service. Whilst we take every reasonable precaution and care in relation to the provision of the Reminder Service, we make no guarantees to the contents or operation of the Reminder Service. Your use of the Reminder Service is done so entirely at your own risk and we do not accept any liability whatsoever for losses or damages that you may suffer as a result.

- Offence caused by or mistakes made in your message, where you have asked us to send an item directly to a third-party recipient. We will copy your message exactly as entered by you during the “checkout” process and will not correct any mistakes in the message or recipient address that you may have made.

- Failure of the Royal Mail or other delivery companies to deliver your order, or for damage suffered during the delivery process.


Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.


In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you for all and any damages and/or losses exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the website, purchasing and/or enjoying our products or using the services provided via the website.


11. Disclaimers


Whilst we shall endeavour to ensure that the information and images on the website are true and correct, we do not warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on the website. We may make changes to the material on the website, or to the services, the products and/or the prices described in the website, at any time and without notice. The material on the website may be out of date, and we make no commitment to update such material.


12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction


The Terms above shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and disputes arising in connection with our business shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
