Lucy grew up in the countryside so has always been surrounded and inspired by nature. Whilst out and about walking she sketches and make mental notes which then become ingredients for her paintings - a hare dashing across my path, wildflowers swishing in the breeze, birds singing in the hedgerows.
She has an amazing eye for the colours and textures of the landscape, noticing the effects of the changing seasons and weather on everything, and jots down ideas when she returns to the studio at the bottom of her garden.
Lucy loves to paint wild birds and animals, countryide and coastal scenery along with gardens, old buildings and little bits of country life. Her paintings are an interpretation of what she's seen mixed in with happy thoughts about a place, illustrating special moments in time.
