We’ve decided to display our christmas card packs in two different ways this year, to help customers track down exactly what they want more easily.
If you’re specifically after charity christmas cards, use the “Christmas card packs – by Charity” category. Click on the heading to see all our charity cards, or narrow them down further by searching with each different type of charity.
However, if there is one particular charity you like to support, find the relevant cards more quickly by using our search facility to search under the charity’s name. You don’t have to type its full name in, just a keyword e.g. Macmillan, and all matches will show up instantly.

We’ve tried to make our checkout process straightforward, but if you are having difficulty navigating through it then click here to download a document (pdf) containing step-by-step instructions.
You might find it easiest to print the document off (it’s only one page) before working through it.

Our website is configured to allow customers as many attempts as they need to login (that is to say, it doesn’t lock you out after, for example, three incorrect attempts).
However, we are aware that some customers’ individual PC security packages do not permit unlimited login attempts, and these customers are occasionally frustrated in their efforts to sign in. Under such circumstances, we suggest you reset your password (using the link about the login area) and then wait for a short period until a further login attempt is allowed (the amount of time varies, but we suggest you try after perhaps an hour).
Alternatively, ‘cut and paste’ your shopping basket into an email, and we will enter it from our end and then contact you for payment. Or, phone us and we will be very happy to take your order over the phone. We know our stock well, so even if you only have a vague memory of the cards you originally chose, we’ll be able to identify them for you.

It is vital to make sure that security and other critical updates are automatically sent by Microsoft to your PC, and indeed most PCs are set up at the beginning to receive these updates automatically. To check whether you receive these updates automatically, you should visit the Microsoft Update home page by following this link: http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
If you are set to receive automatic updates, you will see a box on the right-hand side of the page saying Automatic updates: Turned ON. If you find you are NOT receiving automatic updates, it is really important to change the settings so that you do so in future, as they do help to protect your PC from viruses and other security threats.

We received an email from a customer last week who was worried by a message she had received from Microsoft regarding the validity of our security certificate.
At Orchardcards.co.uk we take your security and our reputation really seriously. So, while we were able to reassure the customer that our Security Certificate is in fact valid, we were concerned about the message.
However, when we looked into it, it turned out that her computer was set to a date in 2011, so our Security Certificate (which is due for renewal in November 2010) appeared to be out-of-date!
To check the date on your PC, click on the Windows “Start” button (bottom left of screen), then select “Control panel” and “Date and time”. If either needs adjusting, click “Apply” to save your changes.

Have you tried using the search facility?
At the top of the right margin (in the main website as opposed to this blog), is an area called ‘Quick search’. Use it to type in any word relating to the kind of card you wish to look for e.g. sympathy or springtime … and the website will deliver.
The only drawback is that the facility will also give you cards where your search term makes up part of a word in the description e.g. if you type in cat, the search facility might throw up a cards illustrated with an oystercatcher!

Double-click on the first thumbnail image in any card category. In the top right corner of the resulting page you will then see the word Next >>.
Click on this button to browse through all the cards in the category in their enlarged form, without the need to keep returning to the thumbnails.

Select the ‘Login’ option from the grey menu at the top of any orchardcards.co.uk page.
On the second line of the page, you will see a link to click here if you have forgotten your password. Simply enter your email address (the one you used to register with us!) and we will instantly email a new ‘gobbledygook’ password to you.
If the email does not arrive in your inbox within a minute or two, try checking to see if it has been diverted to your spam filter. If it does not arrive, please do telephone us on 01270 524509 for further assistance.
We suggest that the first thing you do, when you successfully login using this new password, is to select ‘My account’ from the top grey menu, and then ‘Change my password’ back to something more memorable!
